Every year my friends and family have an annual Girls Margarita Party. We’ve been doing it for about the last ten years. It’s always a huge hit, and we’ve really expanded on the types of margaritas that we make. If you can think of it, we’ve probably made it. The tool that really gets us through is my Cuisinart food processor. I’ve considered a machine to make just margaritas, but it didn’t seem cost effective when I can use my food processor for this and many other things. Aside from that, everyone doesn’t want a frozen margarita.
We do about ten different flavors ranging from pomegranate, jalapeno, mango and so on. Some people prefer the traditional as well, and some people like a traditional frozen margarita. Aside from the basic traditional margarita on the rocks that just has to be shaken up, we use the Cuisinart food processor for all of the rest.
Everyone pitches in to buy the supplies, including the alcohol, the ice, the fruits for pureeing and the garnishes. We vote on what flavors we will make, and of course we make the top ten that get the most votes. We have a large female population in our family and many female friends as well, so it turns out to be quite a few people.
It had been a few years since I had replaced any of the parts on my Cuisinart food processor, so I went to the KitchenWorksUSA website to see what they had in terms of Cuisinart DLC-7 parts. I decided to pick up the replacement chopping blade, along with another food pusher and a bigger bowl for larger batches of fruit purees.
The results were amazing. We pureed several different kinds of fruit and froze the purees that we had leftovers of. We chopped the jalapenos up in the food processor as well, which was nice so we didn’t burn our hands. Overall the process is pretty easy to do, especially once you get the hang of it.
What else is really cool is that you can make the frozen margaritas in the food processor from start to finish. You just start with the ice first before adding the rest of the ingredients to get to the smooth consistency. And of course we can make the frozen margaritas in the same flavors as the regular ones on the rocks. The Cuisinart food processor is really just so versatile, it makes it so easy to make everyone at the party happy, and believe me, that is no easy feat.
I’m so thankful that this kitchen tool has made it so much easier to host this party every year. It’s such a great bonding experience between our friends and family, so it’s something that I plan to continue for as long as possible. Luckily, with my Cuisinart food processor, I expect to be able to do that easily for many years to come!
