Just like a car, an engine also needs a lot of worries. Rain can wash the biggest dirt off your motorcycle, but rainwater can do nothing against stubborn dirt. Regularly giving your motorcycle a good wash can certainly not hurt. These are some of the ways you can wash your motorcycle.
Keep Your Saddle Dry
Before you start washing, it is best to cover or disassemble your saddle. The saddle should not get too wet, because you run the risk of the rotting interior. The rotting interior will make your saddle less comfortable over time. In small quantities, water is not a problem. Water is not your saddle’s only enemy during a wash. When you wax your motorcycle, make sure that the wax does not get on your saddle.
It is best to use car shampoo to wash your engine. Don’t have a car shampoo on hand? Ordinary hair shampoo can fill in for that.
Never Use Detergent
Detergent degreases your vehicle, but it also affects the paint on your motorcycle. Dishwasher detergent contains acids that affect the shine of your motorcycle so that your motorcycle will look dull after a few washes. The result of your wash does not last long either: by using detergent, you ensure that dirt can easily adhere to your motorcycle and you want to avoid that. So that you can also get to pledge your motor cycle on some motorcycle pledge sites or store (จำนำมอไซค์ which is a term in Thai).
Careful with the Windshield
Pay attention when you polish your windshield. A windshield can only be cleaned with cold or lukewarm water. Above we have already reported that detergent is not allowed if you wash your motorcycle, but for the windshield, you should also leave (car) shampoo on the side. Cleaning products can attack the windshield, causing it to crack.
If you are struggling to get the dirt off your windshield, place a wet cloth over your screen and allow the moisture from that cloth to take effect to soften and loosen the dirt.
